How it works

Everything you'd want to know before booking with a broker you haven't used before: the process, how we choose carriers, pricing, payment, and who's responsible for your goods.

Why a broker

One message instead of ten phone calls.

Carriers have trucks. We have a list of checked carriers and the time to find the right one for your load. Instead of phoning around when you need transport, you send one message and we handle the rest: finding the vehicle, checking the carrier, agreeing the price and following the load to delivery.

It's most useful as overflow capacity: when you don't have enough suitable transport of your own, when a load needs a specific vehicle such as a freezer truck, or when your usual carrier lets you down.

If something goes wrong

If a carrier cancels or is delayed, we tell you straight away and look for a replacement. If goods arrive damaged, note it on the delivery note and let us know. We'll handle the claim with the carrier and its insurer.

The process

From request to delivery.

  1. You send a request

Through the request form, WhatsApp or a phone call: cargo, pickup, delivery and date.

  2. First reply within 1 hour

During business hours. We confirm the details and ask about anything missing.

  3. We find a suitable carrier

One we've checked, with the right vehicle, available when you need it.

  4. You receive one all-in quote

It states what's included, and any extras that could apply, before you book.

  5. You accept, and we confirm the booking

You get the carrier's name, the vehicle registration and the pickup time. The carrier gets a written load confirmation with your requirements.

  6. Pickup update

We message you when your goods are loaded. For refrigerated loads, this includes a photo of the temperature reading.

  7. Delivery confirmation

Delivered and signed for. For refrigerated loads, this includes a second temperature photo.

  8. The carrier invoices us

Against signed proof of delivery. You deal only with us.

Carrier checks

How we choose carriers.

Before a carrier moves anything for a customer, we check the documents listed here and keep copies on file. Carriers also agree to our carrier terms, which include:

  • They're responsible for your goods from loading until delivery is signed for.
  • They may not pass your load on to another carrier.
  • For food loads: a clean, pre-cooled vehicle, the temperature you specify, and temperature photos at pickup and delivery.
  • They send vehicle and driver details within 30 minutes of accepting a load, and report delays immediately.
  • Business registrationCompany registration documents, or ID for an owner-operator.
  • Vehicle registration and licence discCurrent and matching the vehicle that will arrive.
  • Operator cardFor goods vehicles over 3,500 kg gross vehicle mass.
  • Professional Driving Permit (PrDP)For drivers of goods vehicles over 3,500 kg gross vehicle mass.
  • Commercial vehicle insuranceProof of current cover.
  • Goods-in-transit insuranceWith enough cover for the value of your load.
  • Food loads: Certificate of Acceptability and thermometerA valid certificate for the vehicle, and a working thermometer showing the cargo-area temperature.
  • Bank confirmation letterSo payments go to the right account, which protects against payment fraud.
Pricing and payment

One price. No surprises after delivery.

What your price includes

  • Transport, fuel and tolls for the route quoted
  • The vehicle type your load needs
  • Reasonable loading and offloading time

Any extra that could apply is stated on your quote before you book, such as waiting time beyond the included time, cancelling after a carrier has been dispatched, or an extra stop. If the load turns out different from what was quoted, we re-quote before collection, not after delivery. Quotes are valid for the period stated on them, because fuel prices change.

How you pay

New customers pay by EFT before collection. We send the invoice with your booking confirmation, so an instant EFT clears in minutes, even for urgent loads.

Regular customers can apply for account terms. Once you've booked with us a few times, ask.

Responsibility

Who's responsible for your goods?

We arrange transport as your agent. The carrier physically moves your goods and is responsible for them from loading until delivery is signed for. Every carrier must hold goods-in-transit insurance.

If goods arrive damaged, note it on the delivery note at delivery, or tell us in writing within 3 days if the damage wasn't visible. We handle the claim with the carrier and its insurer for you.

Goods-in-transit policies have limits and exclusions, so we recommend you keep your own cover for your goods as well. The full details are in our customer terms.

Questions

Everything else.

Can't find your answer? Send us a WhatsApp.

Do you own trucks?

No. We're a broker. We arrange each load with an independent carrier we've checked, and we manage the load from request to delivery.

How quickly will I hear back?

You'll get a first reply within 1 hour, Monday to Saturday, 08:30–17:00. The quote follows once a suitable carrier is confirmed. Messages sent on Sunday are answered on Monday morning.

Can you do same-day or weekend loads?

Often, yes, when a suitable carrier is available. We'll tell you straight away if one isn't, so you're not left waiting.

Is there a minimum load size?

No fixed minimum. Tell us what you need to move, and we'll tell you whether we can arrange it at a sensible price.

Which areas do you cover?

Cape Town and the wider Western Cape. For loads to or from other provinces, ask and we'll tell you honestly whether we can arrange it.

Do you move live birds?

No. We don't move live animals, hazardous materials, abnormal loads, or poultry litter, manure or by-products.

Who do I deal with?

One contact person, from your first message to delivery. You won't be passed between departments.

Does sending a request commit me to anything?

No. You'll receive a quote, and you decide whether to book.

Tell us what needs to move

The request form takes about two minutes, and sending it doesn't commit you to anything. Or send the details on WhatsApp.
